Just Another Day

Good morning/afternoon or evening my fellow myLotters!
I'm sitting here enjoying my second cup of coffee, the sun is shining and I'm trying to get a few things done before I head out to visit my mom.
My daughter and grandson are coming with me so the visit should be fun for my mom with extra people to add to the conversation. After our visit we're going out for a late lunch which I'm looking forward to. I haven't been out to a restaurant in ages and I told my grandson I'd treat since he did so well on his report card. I'm also letting him pick the place so it should be interesting to see where we end up.
I expected to have a quiet day at home yesterday but my Aunt & Uncle stopped by to drop off a box of books for me and get directions so they could go visit my mom. Here I thought she wouldn't have any visitors and I'm sure she was surprised to see them. They were on their way back up from spending the winter in Florida and continuing their trip home (upstate NY) today so I was happy they stopped by to say hello.
I can't believe how fast the days are flying and I just feel as if I'm on fast moving merry-go-round lately.

My aunt & Uncle stayed longer because they went down later than usual and if it was up to my Aunt they would live there year round. They mentioned that it took longer to come home as they decided to have the house painted. With them you never know

That will be a treat for your mother having visitors yesterday that she wasn't expecting and then today you, your daughter and grandson will visit today which she will enjoy. Nice and I wonder what type of restaurant he will want to go to. Yep the days are flying by way to fast and going fine here today so far this morning.

@Asylum I was worried he would pick McDonalds but I asked that he pick somewhere we go on in and eat and relax so he picked Red Robin

When you have been a full time care giver and things suddenly change it does throw off your equilibrium. I am glad your mom is having extra visitors.

I'm trying to find a balance between having free time and visiting with mom. Being able to leave the house whenever I want is new to me since I've been taking care of her for the past 8 years

We did enjoy our lunch and now I don't feel like cooking dinner except those coming home will be starving

@Marilynda1225 I can stand dry heat (not the desert heat), but Florida is too humid. I think I could live all the way down in Key West, it's like an island.

If my Aunt could have her way they would live there year round. She loves the heat (even though I think she's crazy)

I'm approaching a big birthday at the end of the year and it seems as if it's rushing rather than slowly creeping up
