SETI - The Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence out there somewhere! The Radio Telescope that America uses to look for life out there is located in Puerto Rico in Arecibo, Puerto Rico : The University of California at Berkeley is where SETI is the leading sponsor of this effort. Called the SETI Project. https://seti.berkeley.edu/ Now there will be a new and larger radio telescope in China: From Space.com: http://www.space.com/33357-china-largest-radio-telescope-alien-life.html There is also more information about the latest Allen Telescope Array: It too is linked to SETI.org and it's ambitious efforts to find intelligent life in the universe, somewhere, out there! http://www.seti.org/ata additional source on the China radio telescope: https://techcrunch.com/2016/07/05/china-invests-in-the-hunt-for-aliens-with-worlds-largest-radio-telescope/

I wonder why we are so sure an alien race would use radio frequencies. What if they use some sort of psychic communication?

If that were or is the case, then maybe we have been contacted during some stage of our own lives by them as in the case of day dreams or hypnagogic sleep: The likelihood a civilized alien race of human like beings would use similar technology suggests they would be at a relative stage of development similar to our own, but if they were in fact thousands of years more advanced, then in that case they might use less so called rudimentary methods to communicate or they may know we exist but want nothing to do with us. There are many good arguments for this. We are a self destructive species.
The brain displays a variety of activity patterns at different stages of sleep. What's going on in your brain while you slumber?

@lookatdesktop As Arthur C Clarke said, the thought that we are alone in the Universe, and the thought that we are not, are equally frightening.

@DWDavis , so true and Stephen Hawking thinks it would be a terrible thing if an alien race found out about us and then landed on terra-firma. The end of life as we know it.

I have known this great project since two years ago by TV, The telescope, which has taken about five years to build, is expected to search for more strange objects to better understand the origin of the universe,it's amazing! My prime concern is that If we can hunt for extraterrestrial intelligence, what can we do next? How can we communicate with each other?

I think we are constantly finding new ways to communicate as we plan to go out farther in space, perhaps to Pluto, we might require a better way of talking back and forth from very long distances in space and perhaps use relay stations to send messages until they eventually reach Earth and back again to the frontiers of space that are as yet beyond our even current technology.
