Do you have a toaster you like?

Someone here wants to replace a toaster-and is hoping to find one that actually works. Not much of a toast person myself, but still have to feel sympathetic. It seems toasters these days often work on one side better than the other. Hmmm. There is a place called Toaster Central where you can have a toast made by hand. Can't suggest that because of the price. When it comes to toasters Is there a brand you think is good?

The best toast to me is that made over a gas flame with one of those wire rack things covered in a sort of flywire gauze affair. We were given three toasters when we got married. I think we're now on the third one. Hope someone has some recommendations.

We were looking for one of those wire rack toasters! Today, a toaster does not seem to do a good job and won't last long.

@PatZAnthony We just got a new wire for ours yesterday from a camping shop. We use it in the bus to make toast if we are somewhere where there is no electricity.

We hate to shop for toasters, we have had all kinds and seems like none really last. In fact we dislike getting a new toaster so badly that we have dealt with 2 slots of our 4 slice toaster not working for over a year now. It takes us so long to do toast now, we seldom have it. I mean think about it, 12 people and 2 slots for toast ='s ugh I am not patient enough to wait that long!!

I do not use toaster at home. When I buy bread, I just eat as it is. No toasting for me.

I have a toaster/oven by Cuisinart, it was pretty expensive, but it's really good.

No. I have no idea. It is only my wife who takes care of such things.

I like Oster. My last one lasted 19 years and I now have a new one that works really well.
