Story - So Nearly Proof At Last

At last, after years of my theories getting me laughed at I had proof of the existence of UFO’s. For all the modern digital cameras around, it was my old fashioned system that did it – the vast silver saucer ship was clearly hovering over Loch Ness – the Diplodocus-like monster can be seen surfacing, drawn in curiosity by the eerie green glow reflecting on the surface of the waters, looking up in bemusement at the craft, with its little bug-eyed green men looking out of the windows and my slow exposure captured it all. I excitedly rushed home to my dark room in my shared flat in Inverness to process the film that was going to make me rich and famous. I gave out strict instructions not to disturb me and hung a developing in progress - do not enter sign on the dark room door. I was so almost there – the prints were just starting to appear on the emulsion, when there was a clicking switch sound and a blinding glare that ruined everything. I had barely started yelling my warning not to, but then … some idiot turned on the lights. My precious negatives were trashed in an instant. I wait Loch-side with my new digital camera, but neither sky nor waters have revealed their mysteries again for me. I am losing hope now after thirty years. Arthur Chappell

Just when you were so very close. I can imagine your frustration. Now you wait with hope, again on the shore.

I should have warned you Arthur, most interstellar craft are fitted with photography detectors and remote light activation units in case of such incidents.

They shed a little light on the subject. Too bad, it must not be full disclosure time yet.
