Perspective Monday

Château-Thierry - Champagne France

Right ! - Perspective is needed otherwise i am going to drive myself insane with all the thoughts of 'WHAT IF' drumming around in my head. Although I am not really an envious person by nature, I do have the feelings of "Wish I was there" when I read about friends traveling all over the country side and the world, because I am a "travel addict" by heart! Monday presents itself with a new To-do list and I have to get cracking because it only gives me a few hours until its Tuesday. M&M . . . that is Myself and Mecé are going to have a breakfast out and some shopping as well. My hubby is leaving on a two week fishing expedition along the eastern coast of the country and with tongue in cheek I must say - Thank heavens for the break it allows me! The first-aid-kit needs to be upgraded and filled with any new drugs he might need while away. A few other smaller items must be bought as they are fishing in a very remote area where there are no shopping facilities. Luckily he got his permit on Saturday, so that's sorted. To all of the followers that left their calling cards over the week-end - Thank YOU - I shall get back to you soon and I must say that my bank rolled just fine in my absentia. I am saving for my ticket to the UK - so every little penny helps! My friend who lives in Belgium visited the Champagne Valley yesterday and took some photos of their picnic on the grass at the Château-Thierry. How wonderful for them to be able to meander short distances and see such marvels. She sent me this photo for my album and to tease me to come and visit again! The tease worked and I am trying like crazy to save enough for a visit next year. Then lastly I want to say congratulations to Portugal for winning the UEFA cup in Paris last night - it was an awful game to watch - boring as hell and lucky for Portugal their substitute Eder scored in the 2nd half of the extra time (probably the best 30 seconds of the game). Strangely more news reports on Ronaldo - who's Ronaldo I say? Sorry France - I was rooting for the Roosters in Blue, but they never delivered. It seems that Germany took too much out of the French team in the Semi's, as they were as flat as ever! Happy Monday everyone!

Beautiful little castle. You cannot have everything : I am sure that your country is better for fishing than France. The main river here is polluted, and there is a prefectoral decree every 100 m telling that fishing is allowed but that fishes cannot be eaten and have to be put back in the river. I watched the match yesterday, and I was preparing myself to go outdoors for the after match (after the match against Germany last Thursday the ambiance in the streets was completely mad), but I made some savings with the victory of Portugal.

@Inlemay I am not an expert, and I had not watched any match of the Portugal team before yesterday. The two teams seemed to have the same value for me, and even if I am deceived by the result, I prefer that Portugal won during the match than during a penalty shootout.

@topffer yes that is a fair outcome as penalty shootouts is unfairly placed on the goalie.

Happy Monday to you also. I like to travel around the area I live in and see what the State has to offer. I didn't watch the game you are talking about. That is a beautiful picture of Château-Thierry.

That is a beautiful photo. I always feel like I should be driving my harness ponies on such beautiful grass - but I'd probably get shot. :)

@bwjsdems yes it can be very very long for the children - I never traveled long stints like that when my children were small.

@Inlemay Sounds like about 13 + hours. It's arranging for someone to look after the kids that has me worried.

I know precisely what you mean because I become envious when I keep reading about people travelling to many different places. The UK should be an interesting trip and I believe that Gary Marsh has visited the country once.

It does seem like quite a bit going on. I'd love to be able to travel a bit but at the moment that's not possible. So in the meantime I wait and I save.
