Should children be scolded?

Children in schools already face study-pressure. Should parents pressurize the children at home also? Should parents scold children? These days there are too much competition in academics.

I have three kids and so far they are doing good in school. I do not want to pressure them because they also need to enjoy life.

Yes Cherigucchi, children should be allowed to study that subject which interest them more.

I don't think pressuring the children too much especially in academics is a good idea. Not all those who excelled in school succeeded in life and having high grades is not a guarantee of surviving in the real world.

Thanks Toni. I agree with you. Study has to be fun. Children these days get lost in rat race.

you dont have to scold your kids if the grades is low.talk to them what are there problems about the subject, is it hard ?for me it doesn't matter if they have a grade is low as long as they don"t repeat that subject.not everybody has a good grades are succeed it depends

Yes ilocosboy, the children are required to be free to express their hurdles. If they dont understand some concept they should approach their parents.

I don't think pressurizing is going to help, there is too much of the parents wanting children to excel. But at the same time a the children have to be disciplined. Actually parenting is tough !

Yes Arundhatiji, there has to be a middle path. Children require to be fearing some one. But again studies should be fun, not boring. The child has to be guided.
