Being Calm

The more time I spend at office and then come home. I am finding it harder to be calm. I feel like I am getting distracted and compared myself with others. Also plenty of thoughts come into the mind. Its not easy to calm mind and being focused on something. For last 9 years I feel I am not focused on what I want. But this year it is going to change. I want to be calm and focused on things. I wonder how you people manage to focus on your goal and life and stuff.

I just let my mind work. Our mind knows everything. If it wants to focus then we focus. But if it doesn't want, then we really can't.

Journaling keeps me focused. A mentor once taught me i should make a dream board. I should cut pictures of everything i want to happen in my life and placed it on my wall where i could see it every single morning i wake up. And every time one come true, I should peel that picture off.

I learn how to take things in a relaxed manner . However , when there's pressure , that's when my calmness is tested .

Try meditation or just use some visualization techniques. It takes a bit to time to learn but when you do it you can relax at any place anytime.

I am pretty calm now but I am also retired which makes a big difference. Not a lot of stress in my life anymore. Now I can stop and smell the roses.

I have trouble with focus too. I have been practicing a little Qi Gong, which is really a type of moving meditation and am getting many benefits, including improvement on focus.
