People talking about Arbitration results

So far it's been the most immature conversation I've ever heard, with no clue how it begun. Most making the jokes out of it, but doesn't understand why the media is showing this in the first place. What difference does it make? We had it neglected for decades. Are we All going to be enlisted and retake the islands that were taken from us? I've had some CAT and ROTC training but that was more than a decade already. But in my opinion, once the resources on those islands have run out, the next obvious target will be the Philippines. This Government has destroyed their own lands for the sake of residential and commercial realty that has mostly remained empty to this day. The lost almost all of their farm lands in favor of major urban development. Well, no offense but this is something we had to make stand for. Every single aquatic and plant life on those islands already ruined. I feel even though we won the battle, we lost the war already as the islands had been occupied years before the result. But some people believe that this win might secretly give the chance for the US to control the resources on those islands w/ the Philippines as it's part-owner. I mean, right this moment there's an oil rig near the spratleys that supplies oil to Australia. Because I just wonder who will develop the islands in case we retake it and how will we reinforce it.

China will not simply give it away. They said they will not respect the tribunal's decision.

Hello @magallon well, this proves they are too afraid and would cause them to be hostile, out of fear..

@Letranknight2015 I have read a post here a while ago. It was posted by a Chinese mylot member. I did not make a response. He has a different view about it.

@magallon because they were given reports that is mostly propaganda, setting their minds that they owned the islands.

China seems to be wanting war in not respecting the tribunal's decision. But you have a point, who would really own the island...the US or the Philippines? Why do the US took interest in the first place in helping our country if they're not interested. We have to remember they don't help without any returns.

@Letranknight2015 They never left actually. They still interfered with most of our dealings. It was just the US Base that left our territory but the US never left the Philippines alone, ever.

@toniganzon yeah, i think the politicians just ride with the leaving of the bases, but they were leaving anyway

I agree with you that they don't do it for free @toniganzon and it humiliates us even more that because we had them kick out back in the 90s or people just politicized it even though they were really leaving anyway.

Great Job, now if only someone over here listens besides me. Sad to say, but love how you wrote this. The US should not take control of anything because they can't even do what is right for their own. Power hungry in the disguise of charity.

My problem with PRC, is that not only they shoe away Filipino fishermen from harvesting there but the soil used to make those islands came from my country. I wonder whos rig will be put on the islands, or will the last remaining aquatic or coral life there be preserved or are we going to destroy the environment just for the sake of oil the way the china is doing now? I got bad feeling it might come to that.

@Letranknight2015 Ya, world is getting smaller everyday literally. The first that need protection is the islands. You are smart to see this and hope that is the difference,

I am avoiding making topics about this one because I have Chinese friends in Mylot. I found it very awkward.

Well, nope I don't find it awkward since it was mostly about our people talking about it @CaptAlbertWhisker and it's really just disappointing

We have to wait and watch what will happen next; but as you said, much destruction had been done on the coral reefs, on the giant clams and other marine life in the area.

Hello @acelawrites Not only reefs, clams, but also the tortoise that were skinned alive there. All of the marine life is just ruin and even if we retake them it will be hard to restore what was destroyed there.

We need other Asean nations to be with us. If the Philippines is the only nation standing up against China then I can predict the future is bleak for our country to bring back the territory.

Of course it's bleak I mean we neglected the political will to re inforce these islands @corvinus and not to mention, Imelda Marcos warned us about this back in the 90s and our parents or other elders back then completely ignore these warnings.
