Got My Computers Back

During this past month I have taken both my iMac and my PC to the shop. I'm still not completely happy with my iMac. I got a new and larger hard drive for it, but still don't have all the software issues resolved. They did something to my permissions. Now I have to change them for almost every file I try to open to regain access. That's a royal pain. My PC is much improved. I got more memory in it and they cleaned the CPU. I had asked them to do the Windows 10 upgrade. They advised against it -- especially after they tried three times to install it and were unable to. All those prompts to upgrade said the computer was compatible, but I guess it wasn't. I trust these techs more than I do Microsoft anyway. I always use them. They assured me Windows 7 will be supported until 2020. I'm not sure I'll still be around then anyway. They did stop the computer from nagging me about upgrading. Now I'm back working in double computer mode. I have not been able to work efficiently with one computer gone. I'm sort of back now.

Great! I have resisted Windows 10 so far and I think it's a good thing. I think my computer is too old and tired to handle it.

Mine isn't too old, but I really do like Windows 7.

@bagarad I have Windows 7, too.and I like it. I work this computer pretty hard and it wasn't a big one to begin with.

I've gone to Windows 10 as I thought everyone would eventually be upgraded whether they wanted it or not. Seems like that's not the case.

I never really wanted it and was afraid it would create problems with software programs I still need that aren't too compatible with it. I was glad my techs recommended against it.
