Today is the day that my brother and I are going to quit smoking...or at least we are on our way. We are both starting Chantix today.
I tried Chantix about 8 years ago and stopped smoking for 1 1/2 years. There was a death in the family and I started back. I could really kick myself in the backside for starting back after all that time.
I know it won't be easy but Chantix does help with the cravings or at least it did with me before. Wish us luck as we start this journey today!

YES!!! That is wonderful! It is really hard, it took me many years of failing before I finally succeeded and unfortunately during any kind of stress, it is so tempting to go back. So I'm rooting for you guys!

@simone10 I am not usually here on weekends, but if you need to vent or some encouragement, I am here during the week and you can send me a message anytime.

That's great that you quit and never went back. I wish I could say the same. But, it just didn't work out that way. With Chantix we can still smoke for the first week. I have been trying to smoke less and stop some of the habits such as smoking after I eat. Hopefully I will be ready to quit after a week. It worked before so I am anticipating it working again.

I quit in 1993 and I have never had even a puff since, when I survived our house burning down in 1995 I knew I was done for good. I had previously quit and started back up. I will be praying for you.

That's good you quit, because smoking is dangerous to our health you should chew a bubble gum instead of smoking
