Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her ninetieth birthday recently. I saw one of her latest photos and notice she is wearing heels. It is commendable for anyone that old to be wearing shoes that have heels. What about you. Have you given up - not that you are ninety already

I do occasionally wear them, but not often. (You might want to change 'heals' to heels')

@jaboUK - Ms Janet - Just got back from reading a nifty post all about "Grammar" stuff. All that I know about women's high-heel shoes is that, the higher the heel, the more the gal will "nead" lots of "heals." Oh yes - I have a rather impertinent question about the Queen's customary outdoor garb. Could that nice lady find a hat to wear that does not always look much too much like a chamber pot? The crown is cool, but those hats are altogether...

She is an eleglant and healthy old lady. She often dresses so nicely when she goes out. Wearing high heels will not be a problem for her. As to me, even I can't wear high heels for a long tiem when I was young

@allknowing I think it is important that she has the best medical and healthy treatment since she is the queen

That shows how healthy she is. She should write a book on how to remain healthy.

I can't remember the last time I wore heels. I own a pair of work shoes, and a pair of flip-flops. Otherwise I go barefoot. Those look like sturdy heels though, like my grandmother used to wear.

@allknowing No. I don't even wear sturdy heels. I wear tennis shoes or flip-flops, or nothing at all.

I might have tried wearing heels a handful of times. At least I never have to give them up as I never bothered with them.

As long as I can still manage wearing heals why not. But I am not a fan of heals. I really like flat shoes. I seldom using heals at work before.

For formal occasions I suppose heels look better provided one does not have to walk much

I wear heels but only wedges and not the point heels. Well, I'm not old as Queen Elizabeth. I was amazed by her wearing those pointed heels despite her age.

I'm just starting to wear heels and I love wearing them. Reaching that age is like a milestone in these days. But I think being a Royal place a big role in it...she gets to eat healthy and good foods

If I reach my nineties I also woudn't give up. Many of my ancestors lived over nineties and even one hundred years. Concerning the heels - they aren't comfortable to me, but during official events they are mandatory I mean and it doesn't depend on our age.

As one grows older one cannot balance well and so wearing heels may not be safe.
