1965 – James Brown records “Papa’s Got a Brand New Bag”. The song becomes a hit and sells more than 2 million copies and went on to receive the Grammy Award for best R&B recording. That same year The Miracles released on of their popular hits “Tracks of My Tears”. 1967 – The Beatles score their 14th number one single with “All You Need Is Love”. 1968 – The Beatles animated film “Yellow Submarine” is released. The voices in the film were not provided by The Beatles but instead by actors. http://www.classicbands.com/day/july%2017.html
A classic by Smokey Robinson & The Miracles

Those were some very good years. I never heard that about Yellow Submarine, surely the singing was done by the Beatles?

I believe the songs were done by The Beatles @JamesHxstatic it was just that they didn't speak for the animated characters.

I guess the Beatles didn't really live in a Yellow Submarine!

I do love James Brown. That guy really had the moves while singing.
