What? Can't be!

We met with hubby's heart Dr. today, he didn't have good news for us. Hubby has some blockage and needs to go in for either an angiogram or angioplasty, I'm not sure which one, I was in shock and not sure I totally understand all that he said. Plus I really don't know the difference between the two. The Dr. wants to do it tomorrow, but we have to wait for the ok from the Ins company, I hope they get it done soon. Hubby is now off of work till who knows when, and can't have the back surgery till about a month after this procedure, because he will be on blood thinners. I know it is a blessing in disguise, that they found this, because we didn't know about the blockage, and if he wouldn't have gone in for his back, we wouldn't have found out and it could have turned into a heart attack or stroke, so I am grateful. Yes, there were tears, and fear still creeps in once in a while, but I'm trusting that God has a plan. God's got it! Thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts, we really need them.

An angiogram is a very simple test. It's an X-ray photograph of blood or lymph vessels, my husband made one last week. An angioplasty is something more serious, it's surgical repair or unblocking of a blood vessel, especially a coronary artery. I do not believe that they would perform an angioplasty before to do a angiogram.

I am sorry the news wasn't what you wanted to hear. The good thing is that they caught this when they did. My grandmother had a minor heart attack and they found she had blockage. She was on blood thinners, had to stay in the hospital as well. They sent her home with nitro glycerin but other than occasional weakness she is fine. The heart doctors know what they are doing, even if all of their terminology is complicated.

@lilnana1111 I hope the insurance is speedy so that he can get the procedure he needs done soon! Waiting does not help the worried mind for sure.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I hope so too, I don't think his stress level will be able to handle waiting too long.

That really is a shocker but it has to be done. If not for his back you wouldn't have known about his blockage. Good will take care of it if you just believe. God Bless.
