Why don't you get a real job?

I've been asked that so many times in my life. The truth is the last time I had a "real job" was back in 2008! I've been making it "my way" through various online ventures as well as house sitting but the truth is the main reason why I just don't get a "real job" is because... GASP! I have SOCIAL ANXIETY! Maybe I'll find a nice letter stuffing job where I don't need to talk to anyone... that would honestly be a dream job to me... sigh... How about you? Do you have a "real job"?

Right now, I'm just a mom, and I'm happy being a mom and focusing on my kids. I've been asked whether or not I'd like to work, or if I've looked. To be honest, I have looked, but I'm happy with what I'm doing, and it is scaring going back to work, when I haven't worked since 2010.

Me and numbers do not get along. The only class I've ever failed in life was Math. I just never could get the hang of it.

@Bellatricks one mans real job in another mans pain in the rump. I did have a real job - teaching Ancient History. If I could have found a job that I could do at home I would have, Sorry about the social anxiety. I wonder sometimes why people can't just mind their own business.

Sometimes I hate "complaining" about my "health" issues...i.e. social anxiety... because I know there are many people out there who really have severe health issues that make them unable to work. I hope you are earning what you want to be earning.

Don't know if there are any real jobs anymore. There are occupations and slave jobs but real jobs seemed to be out of style in our modern world? As long as we can stay busy and able to get can always be happy with what we are doing I suppose.

I actually have two real jobs where I go outside my home to work. One is working our window cleaning business, which I've had to do since my husband got hurt eight years ago. I'm hoping to train up some younger people to carry on the business for us. I also work as a cashier at a store similar to walmart although it's not in all states or countries.. I plan on working in that manner until I'm seventy if I can.

During weekdays, I work in a law/accounting firm handling taxation & immigration cases. On weekends, I do some remote projects on Upwork and other translation sites.
