Woke up at 1a. after going to sleep about 8p. Ugh! Watched the first The Bravos. It was sort of cute. Silliness awards for Bravo shows performers. I was curious. Bravo is addicting. Cami had one of the Solanpas pain patches on for quite a while and she said she had a stomach ache. She took the patch off and the stomach ache stopped soon afterward. I googles side effects and found nothing on this. Just sensitivity things such as burning and even blistering in some extreme cases. I told her maybe to just use these patches when she really hurts so that she can sleep and then take it off as soon as she wakes up. Just saw a bug on the wall by me. I am really freaked out. They are really multiplying and I am just afraid we are going to have to pack up everything like we did a year ago with the bed bugs. Does it ever end? Got a notification that I needed to manually update Google Chrome. I tried to uninstall it because it said to do so and I couldn't. I have been having issues with Chrome for quite a while now but thought I had it handled time and time again. I finally broke down and called Dell. Ram told me that my computer was badly infected and that I needed a software subscription or whatever so that he could put a tool on my computer to get rid of these infections. It was going to cost me $230 for the first year and I couldn't afford that.*(They did this same thing previously and cost me $100.) He said that the infection will not let me download any software or uninstall any. So I am using IE again. If that doesn't work I will try ME and if that doesn't I am screwed. So happy to be a part of the internet world. I think that when I buy another laptop I am going to break down and buy this software subscription(or whatever it is called) and so then I should be set. Have to slug along with this one as long as I can. Ram said I could get these infections anywhere on music sites, movie, social, etc. Ya, I am bummed. If you don't see me on the site you will know what happened and I will be back as soon as I can get a new PC and the subscription squared away. Yes, I have tried the reset or whatever and it didn't help. Temporary at best. Screwy awful day already and it is only 6:41a. Am posting this. I have a feeling today is going to be a long one.

Something sounds really screwy about the information you got from Dell. I would try and get some help from the community here. Someone should know how to address this without stealing that much of your money.

Ya, I would trust to do any thing except with a authorized tech.

@Jessicalynnt .....That is true. I just have to go with the places that will take payments because I can't put out a big hunk of money one time.

@celticeagle oh those are much nicer, but I dont get laptops to last long, so I go cheap, dell's seem to last me the same amount of time, so why not spend less? lol

Do you have a good antivirus program? I use free Avast and don't have any problems. I'm thinking those people are yanking your chain. I certainly wouldn't pay that kind of money to anyone and then give them access to my computer. No way. You don't know if they're putting some virus on there just so they can get you to pay them to take it off. Now I like Dell, I even ordered my new Dell computer yesterday, but I would never allow anyone free access to my computer.

Yes, I do. Problem is this: The infections that I have on the computer cannot be deleted. They come on the computer from music sites, movie sites, social media, etc. And the killer is that the infection sets itself up on the computer as something that the anti virus won't recognize as bad. I have used Avast and several other. Both a three year one from Dell when they cleaned my PC abut three months ago. I won't let anyone have free access to my computer either. Only an authorized Dell technician.

Did you try using any virus protections or running a full scam to see if there is anything wrong with your computers..

I do scans all of the time. One thing the Dell tech told me is that the infections install themselves like they are something normal on the PC. So when you do a scan it won't pick it up as an infection or whatever.

I started using Chrome because I had an issue with my online banking after they did a big upgrade. Never had any problems before. Upgrades for who?
