Absinthe Makes The Heart Grow Fonder

Hello! My name is Darrin and I’m an alcohol… Oops, sorry!! Wrong forum!! Hello again! [Taps screen a few times] Is anyone out there? Probably not! It’s been a while. But actually not that long. How soon they forget. [Wipes a small tear from cheek in melodramatic fashion] One minute you’re flying along with the wind behind you. You’ve just won “myLot’s favourite user with the username WorDazza” for the 4th time in 6 months and then BANG! You’re yesterday’s news and tomorrow’s fish and chip wrappings all in one! The wind has turned, and that coat you lifted above your head to use as a sail to propel you along ever faster is now dragging you backwards at almost twice the speed. The things you have to do suddenly massively outweigh the things you want to do and when you finally have a minute to yourself the only thing you want to do is nothing. Incidentally a vastly underrated pastime! I just thought I’d drop by to see how everyone is before I once more make like an amoeba and split!

Surely if an amoeba splits you will end up with an amo and an eba.

Amo and Eba! What a great idea for a children's TV programme about the traumatic existence of a post-split ameoba trying to make it's/their way in the world, set against the backdrop of a post-industrial small town.

@WorDazza Yes it would and it would teach children that prejudice is wrong.

@Asylum Absolutely! Asexual single-celled life-forms are just as important as any other more complex life-forms!

I used to love the real absinthe I had in paris a few times. They used to bring some sort of contraption to you and the absinthe used to drip slowly through a dripper on to a sugar cube. Very tasty. Having the occasional break from here is good as being around all the time makes it a bit boring sometimes

Had fun reading all the comments. Have nothing more to say. Whatever I wanted to say is all there. Just have your pick. Welcome back as and when

@WorDazza it was cool. It was some sort of special absinthe place with different varieties and they did everything as it should be. Very interesting place although for the life of me I can't remember the name

Just reminded me of a quote .. The scariest thing about distance is you don't know if they will miss you or forget about you. Maybe you are forgotten, scorned and shunned.

@Drosophila I'll have you know there has been no rubbing off of youths, uncouth or otherwise. A man could get arrested for that sort of thing. I'm sure your ears are just perfect. For an elf!!!

Amoebae divide, but Amo and Eba sound like they might have started out in a garden somewheres...

@jaboUK You know what? You're the only only one who ever notices my titles (and that's not something I say to just any woman!!!). I usually put as much effort into the titles as I do the posts. It probably shows.

Fish and chip wrapper. I think I would have a job wrapping my screen around a filet of fish! Nice to see you! Enjoy whatever you are up to!

We need fold-able screens. That would sort out the filet of fish/screen wrappage conundrum!

is there really such a thing? (the myLot's favorite user?) this is my "doing nothing" time... that time when i want to sit with my kids while they watch something on tv, but it's not something i like, but i want to sit here and just be with them.
