In Hollywood the biggest Icons of Horror during the Baby Boomer Era are Dracula,Frankenstein's monster and Wolf man. At certain point there is a Hollywood crossover were those 3 movie monsters meet.
For the Generation X, The Horror Icons are Jason and Freddie, They faced off in the movie Freddie vs Jason.
The Millennials have Annabel but there is no character popular enough to be matched against her but I heard rumors about Chucky vs Annabelle movie.
In Japan the biggest horror Icons are Sadako of the Ring (In Hollywood remakes she is known as Samara) and Kayako Saeki of the Grudge,( I believe Kayako remained Japanese in the Hollywood remakes. )These Iconic Japanese Horror Queens had been compared for a long time. They were Women in White ghosts who are vengeful. Sadako kills people with her Cursed VHS tapes while Kayako kills people who enters her house. These 2 white clad demons will finally face off in a movie! The Ring vs The Grudge!

@shaggin I wonder if an American remake would work, Samara, the American version of Sadako is a little girl and not an adult woman.

Yeah but this time around, Between a Japanese girl with rebonded shampoo commercial quality hair that kills people with VHS tapes and An Angry Japanese mom with infinite period because she bleeds a lot. 
I really dont know how Sadako can still kill people when nobody uses VHS anymore. If she wants to kill more people she should upload her cursed videos on Facebook.
