Duty On A Sunday

Yes, I am the Officer on Duty this Sunday , July 24 . It’s so hot today and I have just done my 3rd round at the mall area . Each time I come back to the office I am already filled with sweat . But that’s okay because at least , i lost some calories.

And the centralized air conditioner is off on such day , because there are just a few of us , in the skeletal force . Only electric fans. I am thinking what day this week shall I offset this one day duty . Cannot be on a Monday , as the boss ordered us 13 officers who alternately does this duty on a Sunday. Maybe on Friday , so my day off will be 3 days , Friday , Saturday and Sunday .

I can do non-stop myLotting on Friday .

So , my next duty is after 12 Sundays again . Good afternoon , everyone !

Oversee the operation of the mall and approves ingress and egress of tenants . See to it that the chapel is readied for the 5:30 mass , the priest fetched and the offering bought . Pays the priest and choir after .

@ChesneyM It's the mall owner my friend that organized mass in the mall to let their employees attend a a Sunday mass.

@cacay1 @ChesneyM It's what the mall owners want for their mall , so the officers and their staff are in-chraged on Sundays and in our case every 23rd of the month since the Patron saint of the owner is Padre Pio and 23 is his anniversary i think of being a saint.

Yes , no choice . ha ha ha . But i should not sweat anymore before the mass starts at the chapel , where i will read the first reading and the responsorial psalm .

@ridingbet I have that similar small battery that can't rotate . It's in my right front office table , very useful . And i also got another small desktop on top of my boss' table , steadied on my left front. So , i am comfortable at the office but not when doing rounds .

@SIMPLYD so, fan yourself and stay near the AC unit na. incidentally, have you seen that small electric fan where it seems to be the craze now.? this fan is powered by a double A battery.

@toniganzon Yes, specially that our mall isn't airconditioned on the lobbies /since they are open to the sea breeze. But on summer the breeze is hot too.

Does the mall rounds to see the mall operation . Approves the ingress & egress of the tenants , see to it that the offerings and the chapel is ready for the 5:30 mass.

I missed my Sunday and everytime i did it , i feel as if i am so tired because the next day Monday , i have to report to work again .

Yes, it's the least we can contribute for the company .

It is that way , because the office is so big for a skeletal force of about just 5 of us .

Oh,you do exercise at every opportunity.Your cholestrol will soon be normal.Here the temperature has reached a maximum of 40C,I guess it is hotter over there than ours.

Yes, at least it's like an exercise.

I think yours is hotter since it's at 40C . Us it's at 32 to 35 C but can go as high as 37. though it's humid .

No people yet , because that part where there are barbecues and foods open at 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. That was taken as i came in to report to work at 8:00 a.m.

@SIMPLYD I like those times too. It is a time to reflect for a moment. But these places have echo's I think and very different once they fill up. What a view it gives. Love those clouds in the picture.

@SIMPLYD We went there last year , just drove by though,, I didn't know that there was a mall there.. Or maybe the driver told us but I forgot .. We'll definitely go there next time to have a meal..

Well , it only comes every after 12 Sundays . I just have to love it and compensate for it by offsetting it on a Friday so the weekend will be longer .

At least even if your working today, you've attended the mass held in your chapel, not bad and you're expecting a 3 days straight this coming Friday, Saturday and Sunday and that is a great off.

Yes, we attend the mass since we are the ones organizing for it . And for me, i always read the first reading and responsorial psalm . it's my panata or promise. but the other officers don't do it. They let others do it . Nowi am excited for the 3 days off.

Thank you . That's the view at the seaside part of the waterfont mall the office manages and owns . Yes, that's Mayon Volcano , the famous landmark of our province , Albay of the Bicol Region here in the Philippines . That one is an active volcano .

Wow, thank you for saying that i am getting younger everyday .

I guess when one is getting older , me at 56 already , a compliment like this is welcome.

. Maybe because my officemates are so much younger than me , that's why i look also young , since that is a cropped picture of the picture i posted during our mall anniversary last July 15 . About the volcano , that one is really beautiful - but dangerous .

Indeed , it's just after twelve Sundays . Besides , i enjoy the work , specially that the last one was supervising the preparation for the mass and attending it , being the reader for the first reading and responsorial psalm .

Actually , i was able to make my self comfortable at the office with two electric fans , one steadily fanning my left side of my face while the small one at my table , fans my right side of the face and upper body . But i din't take a shower , just washed my face , because i didn't feel so hot already , because the trip on the jeepney took away all the heat in me , since it's open thus very windy.
