Favorite Songs about Rain #9 - "In the Rain"
July 24, 2016 4:23pm CST
It's been raining, off and on, all afternoon here, so I figured now is an appropriate time to continue my Favorite Songs about Rain series, an idea I've stolen, I mean borrowed, from @JohnRoberts, who did a great one awhile back. We're on #9, "In the Rain," by Keith Sweat. Keith Sweat came out of Harlem in the mid-80's to become one of the leaders of the then-burgeoning new jack swing movement. In 1987, Sweat hit big with his debut album, Make it Last Forever, which sold over three- million copies. While the album spawned multiple hits, "In the Rain" was not one of them, having not been released as a single. It's too bad, because I thought "In the Rain" was an album highlight, a sad ballad that is obviously one of my favorite rain songs. (Information verified by Wikipedia.)
