Went to the dentist on Saturday. First time in 13 years!

The last time I went to the dentist was when I was in grade 7. For some reason I haven't been for a very long time. Not even for a check up. Don't know why but just haven't. I went on Saturday and apart from me needing to get a really good thorough cleaning, the dentist dude said my teeth were really healthy. Don't need any fillings or anything. I was really worried about hearing something negative but I didn't. Really happy about it. Another bonus is that the x-ray showed that I didn't have any wisdom teeth. So no need to worry about having them pulled. YAY! I'm just scared about the cleaning because he wants to go into my gums to clean. So I need needles for this. I've never had anything done like this before so I am nervous. Do you go to the dentist often?

Like you, I went for a period of about 15 years where I never went to the dentist. But unlike you, my wisdom teeth are what finally drove me back to see the dentist, as my wisdom teeth were causing pain due to the way they were growing in. And, just like you, my dentist said my teeth were amazingly clean considering I hadn't been to see a dentist in such a long time. Now, I go regularly (every 6 months) because I want to make sure that my teeth and gums stay nice and healthy and clean!

@VivaLaDani13 And I hope you never have to find out how much pain they can cause! Even as a grown man, I don't think I ever cried so much in my life as I did when I had to have my wisdom teeth pulled (especially the one where the root had grown into my nerve in my jaw).

@moffittjc I'm glad that your teeth are in top notch. Sorry about the wisdom teeth thing though. I guess I will never know the pain that it brings when having them removed.

I've brought my girls to the dentist over the last year, but I haven't been there for myself in years. I think it was probably before I started University. I started in 2007. It's been a while. Needless to say I might be due.

@VivaLaDani13 yeah very true. Hopefully there is nothing. But it's something I'm going to have to look into.

@dodo19 Yeah better to be safe than sorry. Could be nothing wrong at all though. Who knows.

Well I go more often than you! But only when I have to. I've never heard of having to have needles just for cleaning. Good luck.

@jaboUK oh it's because my gums aren't exactly too good. They need a clean. My teeth are 100% fine but it's my gums that are not the best. But once they are thoroughly clean, then all will be back to normal. And thank you!

F**k no. I'm terrified of the dentist and I know I need some serious work done at a serious price so I'm sort of hoping I die before I HAVE to go to a teeth butcher

@VivaLaDani13 That's true. Not everyone gets them. lol Just "wisdom" teeth. You know what that means/ implies? One with no "wisdom" teeth is without "wisdom"

@rina110383 Oh wow that's awesome. I agree it would be much better if you actually knew the dentist personally.
