Claudia made scotch pancakes 3 times during our vacation. I should say "tried" to make them. She make wonderful pancakes here. But at the resort, the pans were not good, the stove was different and everything was scalded. Most of the time we ended up cutting the pancakes and throwing away the burned side. Today we had no bread for tea and Leticia asked me to fetch her a recipe for scotch pancakes from Google. She is no pro as scotch pancake goes as Claudia is. Yet they were perfect! My over 40 years old range is superb and although we did not have the best maple syrup, they were delicious. When and if I sell my house, my stove comes with me. I have taken it to every house I have moved for decades. Do you have any appliance that you would not change?

I no longer have a house I'm in a retirement center and my new computer and keyboard and older monitor would not change ever./

That is awesome your stove is still working decades later. I think Scoth pancakes sounds gross though. Butterscotch pancakes would be amazing though.

@marguicha Ohhh okay very interesting I will have to look up a recipe for them and see what makes them different from the common pancake recipes I've used.

I had my oven that I loved but I could not bring it from France to Switzerland, there are different standards.

I suppose that if I moved even in the same country, I would not be able to take my stove.

@marguicha This is the problem when we move, I miss my oven, it was far better than the new one that I bought here.

I don't change anything as long as it works, all mine are old and work just fine.

Most of my kitchen gadgets are old and they work better than the new ones.

Really can't recall an appliance that I have kept in all my moves from one house to another. Usually, when I move I either give away to charity or sell my appliances so I have a new set of appliances in my new home.

I suppose that my economy is different. Also, the costums in my country are different. We usually take the fridge, stove and all the gadgets to our new home. We give away what we don´t want or need.

My Mum always loved her wood stove and could cook anything on it, continually stoking it a little or opening the fire doors to let a little heat out. It's good you're able to take your stove when you move.

I go often to a house in the country where they have a wood stove. The young generation installed a gas stove too, but Luisa, the owner of the house, would not hear about taker her wood stove away.

New appliances don´t last as much as the old ones.
