Last week I met some tourists from another country. They didn't understand the signs in Danish and they asked me if they had to pay if they used the parking lot. They also asked me how to get to the shops and they asked me to recommend some interesting places to visit. I know that city (Odense) very well. I don't live there now, but I was born there and I lived there for many years. I told them a bit about the most important sights. The Hans Christian Andersen museums are very popular. There are two museums. One of them is quite small, and it is located in the house where Hans Christian Andersen spent his childhood. I visited it about 30 years ago. The other museum is much larger, there are many things to see and it is a good place to visit if you want to know more about his life and his fairytales. There are two historical museums. One of them is an open air museum. I love history and I have been there many times. The houses are from the period between 1800 and 1900. There are farms, a school, a prison, an inn, a windmill, a watermill and many other things. How well do you know your local area? Which places would you recommend if tourists ask you for advice?

It is very kind of you to tell the tourists the advice in details. I am a "road blind", sometimes I even hve to count on the apps to find my road or find the way to go. In my city I think the most attractive thing is the food. You will find many delicious food here.

I have the same problem sometimes. It is okay if I know the area well, but in many situations I need a map, because my sense of direction isn't that great. I like to eat the local food when I travel, it is always interesting to eat food that I can't find in my own country. Which food from your city would you recommend for tourists from other areas?

@CaptAlbertWhisker It is nice that you get the chance to experience another country. Even if you are busy with work it is an interesting experience I miss working abroad, but I am staying my own country now.

I love open-air museums and would love to know more about Hans Christian Andersen. They were lucky tourists to choose you to ask for help.

I also love open air museums. It is nice way to learn more about the past. Did you visit any open air museums when you travelled around in Europe?

@JudyEv That sounds great. Did you take any pictures? We wanted to visit one in Latvia, but it was very far from our hotel and we didn't get the chance to go there.

I am back on My Lot and I was thinking about you. It is great to see you on My Lot again. If a person asked me to give them tips for my local area I would say go to Weston Pier to see fine coastal views. If they like that they could wander along the coastline to a viewing area over the old pier. They could ride on the sightseeing wheel, have a game of crazy golf and visit the historical museum.

I think I know Manila fairly well. I know the more popular tourist spots but also the offbeat ones. If I were to be a tourist guide for a day, I'll bring tourist to Intramuros.

I am happy that I was able to help them. I know what it is like to lost in a country where you don't speak the local language.
