I am impressed

I was in Manila for two days (July 25 & 26). Yes, I attended Pres. Duterte's SONA in my business attire. Lol. Just kidding.
Anyway, I can't help noticed Philippine Airlines' punctuality... and I am impressed. The plane arrived earlier than scheduled and we were able to depart early as well. Same thing happened when we returned home. We were early that my sister was late to fetched us at the airport. Actually she wasn't, she know the ETA but we were 30 minutes earlier.
Usually, when I'm on travel I booked Cebu Pacific Air because of the price difference. Cebu Pac is less expensive that Philippine Airlines. However, one should expect a delayed flight and worse, you will always be transferred to another gate number for departure. It's a headache.
This time I travelled with my Dad. He always insists on PAL. Even if the fare is expensive he's not bothered by it. Now, I know why.
He will always say, "Always go for quality." I just nodded because I'm not the one paying the fare.
Before, people dubbed PAL as "Plane Always Late". Now, it is a myth. I just hope the airline will continue to improve since a lot of people, like my Dad, who doesn't mind paying because they believed they get what they paid for.
Have you had experienced a good service lately?...

@sol_cee Sorry to hear that. Maybe luck was really on our side. But comparing to Cebu Pac, I find PAL impressive though.

i think your dad was after dependability and minimal stress. my father was like that, too. was it a business trip?
i know cebu pacific is very popular, but didn't know about the downsides (delayed flights, gate transfers).

@rachz_kisses then you'd have to keep your eyes and ears open for announcements. then you have to drag you luggage around while finding your way. don't they provide wheelchair assistance?

@hereandthere Exactly. One scenario though, I had to accompany an elderly couple to transfer to another gate. They have a 12-year old boy with them but was in-charge of their luggage. I am expecting an airline crew to assist them but there was none. So I decided to accompany them so they won't get lost. It's heartbreaking to see that these Senior Citizens were not given special treatment and they have to go through the inconvenience that the airline was giving to their passengers.

You're right by saying that and yes, it was a business trip. Last year trip with Cebu Pac, my flight was delayed by one hour. But early this year, they managed to be punctual but they have the habit of transferring passengers from one gate to another.
Upon check-in they will assign you to Gate 119 but when the plane arrives they announced to advise passengers to transfer to Gate 116. That's not a few steps away but a few meters away. Why don't they just assign the correct Gate No. in the first place? They're giving inconvenience to Senior Citizens and PWDs.

When I went to davao, I was forced to ride on Ceb Pac for that is the only plane that flies from CDO-Davao, yes, very much always on delay. In going and coming back, all in delayed flight, instead of 3 p.m, 8 pm , too bad service.

's fer good service? i've been most delighted with my phone conversations with the bunch't consumer cellular, my new phone carrier. they're polite, friendly 'n most helpful. somethin' severely lackin' with the at&t buyout'f my lil hometown company.

Yeah, those horror stories you've heard? They're true.
Isn't a nice feeling to get helpful response from a customer service? Especially if it feels hopeless.
