Most people in the world think Donald Trump is a joke. But half of America seems to be voting for him. Why??

Because he isn't a Democrat.

How is that even a logical argument?

@ashkd4 For me, it isn't, but I'm not American. As an outsider to American politics, it seems, for a percentage of the voters, that what party a candidate belongs to is far more important than what they say, do or are. For example, the recent fuss over Clinton's emails is because she's a Democrat. In general, Republicans consider her evil for it, Democrats don't. If she was a Republican, the opinions would be reversed.

@egdcltd This goes way beyond being a democrat or a republican. This is about being a decent human being. He's being a classic case of a judgmental white supremacist. He dislikes anyone who's not like him and I find that extremely worrying. Who's to say he won't declare war on random countries later on, simply because he does not like the color of their skin?

I am not sure, but there are some who will vote for him because he is not a democrat. All though, it is no secret he has donated to Clinton when she was running for senator. Meaning, he voted for her. The other thing people like is he sounds like a crazy John Wayne. He is not politically correct. People love a masculine tough talking President. Then they love that he is rich and a great businessman. Except he is not, he has made no secret he is the king of debt. So all these fiscal conservatives will be in for a rude awaking when they really find out how Trump built his empire. He is a crook who preys on people's hopes, dreams, and now fears.

I don't know what the pea-brained Americans are thinking @ashkd4 . Trump is bad, Clinton is bad.

That is my question exactly. Why? The man is a narcissist. He never says how he will carry out his ideas. He knows nothing about how politics work. I hope his supporters wake up before election time or we will be in big trouble.

And Clinton is the answer? She is all wonderful and not corrupt? Not a narcissist herself? Why are you so scared?

@RubyHawk You are entitled to you opinion but I disagree with you. I feel Obama has already broken the country, lied to the people (If you like your doctor...), kept us in a war that will be passed along to his successor, ordered drone bombs that have killed many innocents, has yet to fulfill his promise of closing Gitmo and made us a laughing stock as he groveled to other world leaders and we have never been more weaker and vulnerable. What you call progress I say not. Clinton will be more of the same and I won't even get into her aspects that I don't understand why you have no problem with. I want someone like you to understand that there are people who feel the same fear about your president and candidate as you feel for their candidate. People are scared of people like you and politicians you support. That's cool to have your beliefs and support whom you wish but try to understand there are two sides to the coin and not be a hater against those not falling into lockstep with your beliefs.

@JohnRoberts I'm scared Trump will break our country, take us to war and make a big fool of himself just when Obama has made progress. We're already a laughing stock to other countries. They think we are fools for letting Trump get this far. My first choice was Bernie, but now it has to be Hillary.

@coffeebreakwhatever I don't think a wall is a bad idea. But it's foolish to think the Mexican government will pay for it. We should just foot the dang bill and be done with it!

I am not really sure. I think a lot of people don't want Hillary to be elected and maybe they will vote for just about anybody to avoid that from happening. I certainly don't want Trump as ourpresident though....

I might be voting for him. I'm undecided at this point. If I do, a lot of it will have to do with his background in business rather than politics. I think it could be a good change to see a businessman run the country. I like that he says he will make economic deals that will put America first and not coddle other countries. I also have some bad feelings towards Clinton because of the whole emails server fiasco. I will make my mind up more as the debates happen though and they go head to head.

I long ago said that I could not vote for either Donald Trump or Hilary Clinton. Donald Trump because he doesn't know the first thing about running a country. He can smear other people successfully, but that seems to be all he's good at. I cannot vote for Hilary Clinton because I don't see the presidency as football to be passed between two families. I despise one and dislike the other. The electoral system needs to be overhauled. That won't help this election, of course.

I don't feel right voting for either of 'em. So I'm not gonna. I'll see where the chips fall after this whole ordeal is over!
