After some nasty lightning, which we waited out in the club house (nobody wants to impersonate the bishop in Caddyshack!), we played our weekly tournament. That's exactly how I played: weakly. Oh well, not every day is a good one, but as that bumper sticker says, a bad day putting is better than a good day working! And on that happy note, here's my next song with a variation of the word "run" in the title. #7: Tears Only Run One Way - Robbie Fulks "Tears Only Run One Way." This is a song about physics. Not so fast, Robbie. (Yes, he has introduced this song that way!) This great country song (country song, not soft rock/pop/rap passed off as "country" today) is about heartache. When you think about it, country music is totally amazing. How many different ways can one sing about being broken-hearted? "Four walls, two hands, and one sad heart don't make a man much company, but that's all that she left me." How's that for a different opening line? From Fulks' critically-acclaimed debut album, this great song is still a concert favorite, even though I have to "thank" Chris Scruggs for eternally ruining this song for me.
