A Familiar Face

I'm used to seeing birds like this (I'm being told they are herons) at the other park I frequent, I don't normally see them at this particular park. This one was actually a bit braver than most of them though. I was almost on top of it before it decided to fly away.

Its a Great Blue heron. They love to eat fish and even small rodents. I am in love with your fantastic camera and I have not even met it.

Ah - I think it might even be in breeding plumage. They get these longer thinner feathers on their chests at that point.
