Today, a new day, new challenges. Now I was thinking to make something with what I had in the pantry. I was going to make a recipe that had some yellow split peas in it. It turned out that in my recipe book, there was a beet recipe that I had all the ingredients. I was happy. I used my blender and mixed them all, and my youngest son asked me , '' are you sure it is going to taste good ? ' I gave him a look and said,'' If you are afraid of even tasting it , You don't have to, but you don't know what your missing''. Now one of my older sons, did want too have a taste test. His reaction satisfied me greatly. He said,' it is something different, but it taste real good.'. Anyhow, there is a recipe that comes with it, it is called,' The beet queen.' I will write it down someday. For those interested. Photo is from me

It taste not bad, but you don't want to eat only that, because it gets old fast.

@beenice2 I've had beets and it was enough to make me never eat them again.

For some reason I really like the composition of this photo. I'm sure I'll have a taste test later.

Today I had borscht made with beets. I love it. My husband makes Zumma borscht and only uses the leaves. We eat lots of beets as they are so easy to grow here.
