After more frantic packing for my departure from Manchester in just 10 days time, I had my last Welfare hearing in Manchester, explaining the move and getting lots of papers to go through to transfer my account over to the new welfare team in Preston on my arrival there. My final Manchester welfare payments were paid in on time, which gives me my budget for the crucial August month dominated by the city to city transfer. The afternoon was dominated by a visit to the first Central Manchester Beer Festival, which offered great ales and ciders with a local brewery flavour, so many were beer already known to me. The only disappointment was the absence of beer tasting notes in a programme and I wa to busy chatting with friends I knew to keep my own notes though many were beers already covered anyhow. One beer was proving unpopular, though there was nothing wrong with it – people just disliked it. Staff took to letting drinkers taste it before committing to buying a glass full. I found it taste like concentrated grapefruit – quite horrid. I was grateful for the honest counter-promotion for it. After that I met with one of own lovely members, Koalamos who kindly gave me a bottle of whisky towards the drinks to have in at the new house, and a very handy flash drive too and we had a quick pint in a bar called FAB Café in Manchester, after which I got some food and headed for home.
