Is it wrong?

Philippines

While sweeping the dust off the porch, I overheard our neighbour talking to someone on the phone. Well, he's literally shouting so I can hear him from across the street. "Why don't you trust me?" he said. "It's all in the past now. She's not you. You're not her. She belongs to my past and you are my present now." Oh. I sensed a love quarrel. I couldn't help but smirk. When in a relationship, do you still communicate with your ex? Up to what level do you allow your friendship to stay?...

I had other boyfriends before . Our relationships don't have closures . I just don't mind him anymore . Past is past , so we don't have anything to talk about anymore .

I have the same response as @crazyhorseladycx - I think it would be hard to go back to being just friends.

It depends on how the relationship ends... I think. You're right, it's hard to go back to being just friends.

Well, too bad for this person because she seemed jealous and uneasy when his man to talk or even reestablish friendship with his ex or something.

Sounds like a tangled web to me. No, I wouldn't communicate with him, though now that is a moot point as he passed a year ago.

@rachz_kisses We were divorced many years ago. We had some good times, but I was happily divorced.

I agree it is sometimes hard to remain friends. But some do it.

Some remain friends probably because they are totally over with it. Some don't maybe because of how it ended. I guess....

I think it's good for us to do not communicate with your ex at all.

I think having communication with an Ex does a lot damage to the present relationship. So better not linger on the past.

If it began as a friendship (a real one), then turned into a love affair and at last it was broken up, it can be possible, depending on the situation. I never had a serious relationship before the one I'm currently in, and I would definitely hold a friendship with a few people, if my jealous boyfriend allowed me. But he doesn't.

I agree. Some are still friends with their ex'es. It really do depend on how the relationship ended and how serious it was. You're boyfriend doesn't see the need for you to be friends with the past though. He is everything you have right now.

No. Once the relationship ends, communication ends as well.

Yes. As to the level of friendship, I don't know because friendship is a friendship and not a love.
