My friends came for tea.

Today I had a couple of my friends for tea. Marta usually asks me what do I want her to bring so I was a little surprised when she did not ask at all.
I had 2 kinds of homemade jam, a nice bread, butter and an avocado. If needed, I could get a piece of ham, but they don´t much like it.
But they came with a big lemon meringue pie. It was wonderful although I would have used less meringue, specially since Hector is diabetic and I have resistance to insulin.
We had a lovely evening. And they offered to come and pick me up on Saturday as Nancy, a common friend, invited us for her birthday.

@marguicha You had a nice visit from your friends.Though I had eaten bread with mashed potatoes,the mashed Avocado and bread is a new combination.

We eat mashed avocado instead of butter many times. It is healthier that butter on the bread. As for mashed avocados, there are several sauces and dips made like that. Mexico taught us about huacamole, the nahuatl word for avocado sauce.

I confess I like salty things better. So I ate the bread with mashed avocado at the end.

@marguicha My friend bought some mexican donuts todybut I passed on them and had a banana instead.

These friends come to my home every Tuesday. I´m in their agenda
Sometimes they call me that they will not come and that the meeting is traded for an invitation to the cinema. They take me on Wednesday as it is much cheaper for seniors. After that, they treat me to tea at a soda fountain or coffee house.

Lovely visit! You had a good time? I enjoy it when friends come and stay to chat over cuppuccino or tea. And cake or meringue pie is nice, too. :-) Have a good time at the party this Saturday!
