Good wishes for the fire victims in Washington

Some huge brush fires were burning up big patches of Central Washington yesterday. My mom, @poetnw, and my dad were evacuated by the sheriff. They got themselves, one cat, and their two dogs out. I got a call last night as they sheltered in a motel. I sincerely hope everything comes out all right - I know there have been structures destroyed and as of yesterday, the fire was somewhat contained but already 270 square miles had been affected by it. I wish the best for them. There's a good probability their property is fine but here's hoping so, and I hope the two cats who ran away rather than letting themselves be rescued are okay too.

I hope so as well, Makes me think that I need to redo the go back, and get some more leashes. We need go backs, in both vehicles, along with basic mooch supplies, and a go bag in the house with the same

That is a really good idea. I've been glad for the emergency supplies I've had this year, that's for sure. Disasters like this help me refine what exactly I need to have on hand.

It looks like it's likely their house was spared, judging by the news, but I'm still waiting to hear back from them today.

@Rohvannyn Slicer tomatoes. We have enough that I am going to bag a few cherry sized maters for this winter.

That's really a vast area destruction. Fire fighters have done a good job. What is the reason for the fire.

@Rohvannyn Supposedly it started in somebody's yard. Somebody was stupid enough to start a garbage fire when its so dry and gusting windy? Thank you for your concern @shshiju.

@sallypup When the surroundings was dry , there is big chance for it. constant patrolling by the forest officials is helpful to control it.

We still don't know and the news isn't being very helpful. The area was dry so it could be anything.

@paigea It was like being in a car wreck. I looked up the hill and thought huh. Looks weird over there. Then slowly, getting redder. My brain started to speed up. I went to the shed and got a cat carrier and tried to think what I should get out and got the dogs collared and leashed and then the deputy at the door. Everything so slow yet so fast. A matter of minutes and I had to move it.
