How about a UV blocking umbrella?

I mean, why not? The thought occurred to me just now that on hot sunny days, people who walk around with umbrellas to keep the sun off their heads, could in theory, also use that umbrella to block dangerous Ultraviolet sunlight rays.
I wonder what type of material would be involved?
What do you think of this idea? any amount of feedback would be great.

That sounds like a great idea. I am surprised no one has thought of it before!

I am going to have to do some research on this. I really can't say if such a thing exists or not. I will check this out. For one thing I will provide you with a link to an article that is relevant to this topic:
Coolibar offers sun protective clothing, UV protection swimwear, sun hats, and sunscreen that will help protect against the UV rays that cause skin cancer and sunburns.

I bet Vincent would have some ideas on this. He don't write here no more though. I really miss Vince. Do you know who I am talking about? But as far as I can tell there is a type of window film that is sold for homes and businesses that can go right on the surface of a window and block UV and infrared rays and keep a room cooler. I think it would take that special material to be used or even some kind of spray paint that is able to reflect back sunlight. I guess that might be a good idea.
