Is it just me or is the Rio Olympics opening ceremony so bland and boring? Maybe it`s because l do not understand what they are doing anyway? and to think l waited up for this?it`s 1.26 am, been up since 5.30 am this (yesterday morning) Boring or not?

The opening ceremonies to me are usually something to watch but this year, the Brazilians did not do a good work.

I love sports, can not perticipate actively but love watching from the sofa and cheering. It`S one of the few things i still watch on TV, not the doctored reality TV shows which are more boring by the day.

@miniam He-he. I'm opposite. I don't like sports but would rather try playing than watching if I had to. :)

Hi minisam. Interesting commentary. I decided that I had better things to do than to watch the opening ceremony to be honest. I really enjoyed the closing ceremony four years ago, and I guess my main focus was on the lack of preparation to some extent for the Olympics.

@Talknpen Lack of preparation is something i can not really understand, they get enough time to be ready and still not done in the last minute(weeks)

@miniam I guess there are more pressing issues in the country, but they affect the Olympians as well. So, I presume people are just taking advantage of a chance of a lifetime no matter what they have or don't have.

I didn't watch the opening ceremony so can't comment on that. We've been watching a fair bit of the actual Olympics though, and enjoying it.
