No Mowing Today

Even if I felt that I had time there would probably be no mowing today. We can hear the quiet rumble of distant thunder. I went out to get towels off the line that had been through one brief rain storm and had to re dry. There is an invisible mist that cools the skin, and coats the grass and fogs the glasses. Instead of cicadas I hear the tree frogs trilling. They appreciate the moisture and cooler air. So do the blue jays. This does not mean it will not get hot, it does not mean that the sun will not shine. However, this afternoon we will be having a back to school bash. No time to mow then either. I hope this day is pleasant and good for you, or that your night is leading you to pleasant dreams.

It's a pleasant and cool day today. After the big storm we had yesterday the temperature has cooled down.

@GardenGerty we got thunder rumbles and some sprinkles last night, but it did nothing more. I stil gotta mow, but just hit that time of the cramping month, so hard to get things done then, feel all lightheaded and ill.

Just relax. If there's no need to mow then there's no need. Tree frogs making some noise huh? Enjoy today and the days ahead.

We have a couple cooler days in a row. Not chilly by any means, but cooled off enough to walk in the morning. We don't have any lawn to mow. We just have rocks, shrubs and trees. A neighborhood guy comes around and does the watering and trimming now. He doesn't charge a lot and he sure comes in handy! So is a back to school bash a humongous party?

HI Sue, good to see you. We are in a town of 400, but have tried to put donated school supplies together for as many kids as possible in the entire county. We bought enough hot dogs and had donated cookies as well. There is zero economy in town, everyone goes out of town. The kids are bussed out of town. Yes it was a party, kids were excited, parents were relieved. We have more stuff left, and more hot dogs. Next week our pastor gets a foreign exchange student, and we will eat some more of the hot dogs.

We are attempting to do some catching up on laundry, but the weather is of no help. We did get one load of blankets dry on the line. But, the lines were droopy. I'm guessing that Jacob hung on one and the pole is what had to be straightened back up.....oh my gosh these kids can't go outside without doing something they aren't supposed to do every single time.

Where is the mom? She needs to supervise and help them learn. My lines are really long and sag some. I want a T post in the middle, and another line.

I will, I know. It is not bad when I start early, and when the mower is working well.

Certainly it is, but on the other hand I do not want to let it get out of hand again. It is my turn again, as the two lots next to me have been mowed the last two days.

Today has been a good one so far. I'm glad you got your towels off the line before it started raining. The bad part of not being able to mow due to the rain is that the grass seems to grow an inch with every rainstorm.

I got all caught up with 90% of it. I do not mind the mowing if I can start early and quit when I am tired.

The day is rainy and stormy here. Can't go out on flushed out roads. But overall I utilized the time.

Sounds like pleasant weather! It has been cloudy here and a little cooler, but no rain yet. I hope and pray that it does, because I will have to water the lawn otherwise, which is a chore. I need to do laundry, too, but that will wait until Monday or Tuesday.
