I understand that K-9 units are a valued part of Law enforcement so why would this even be an issue? If the general public is not supposed to leave children or pets in a hot car why is it different for Police? Read the article below and tell me your thoughts Please!!!!! What say you?

Whatever the temperature a dog should NOT be left in a car for a few hours. Says the deputy left the dog in there to do a few hours work in the station...WTFtake the dog out of the car you bloody idiot

@mike197602 I agree with you, no dog should ever be left especially for a couple of hours. If he loved his dog so much why not take the dog to stay in the building whee he was working? IT makes me so mad!

@berniezeitler I think it is a sad situation. Indeed, The k9 officer should never be allowed near pets again Had the chance to be a doggie parent and blew that chance. NO more dogs for this person! or any other animal for that matter

Oh no! I am so sorry, poor dog. How can this happen? They should be the ones who avoid this kind of accidents. No dog should be left in the car during summer.

K-9 units owe it to their K-9 coworkers to keep them in safe places when not in service, a car is never safe as this article proves. Poor pup.

It looks like it was no the officer's fault. The vehicle malfunctioned, plain and simple. Not everything is someone's fault.
