Monsoon is the term for the wind that carries heavy rains. Yesterday , it rained all day here. Clouds are so dark and commuters had difficulty in getting rides. Today, Metro Manila schools announced class suspension in the afternoon citing the southwest monsoon rains as reason. As expected, many students rejoiced for they will be going home early.

Classes are suspended this afternoon in here because of the inclement weather condition. No more students. Actually I hope classes will be suspended too tomorrow. I would like to sleep more.

That's what I like too when I am still teaching. No students, means no teachers too.

Traffic this morning was bad because of the rains. At least the children can spend their afternoon in the comforts of their homes. Not the same for workers like me, though.

@magallon From where I am, it seems like the rains have stopped. Hopefully it won't rain once it's time to go home. Still, I'm expecting heavy traffic later.

@moonchild117 Heavy traffic is normal here in the Philippines especially now that it is raining.

We are the same. Even if the students were allowed to go home because classes were suspended, office personnel like me is still here. I think we still have to stay here up to five.

I used to be one of those students rejoicing when we have a holiday due to monsoon. We had heavy showers yesterday and there are puddles everywhere this morning.

@sofssu yup. That's true. Teachers also rejoice if there are no classes. That means they can also stay home or go home early.

I was one of them too when I was still teaching. Teachers also rejoice if there are no classes. But now, that I am in the office, I just can't rejoice because we still have to stay until five.

The weather there is pretty bad. The safety of the students is important. Hoping the weather gets better.

It is not raining hard. The problem is , it is a non-stop rain. Some of the students live in far areas and it is difficult for them to commute or get a ride. It's good that they were allowed to go home early. Their parents will not worry a lot.

Yeah, it's been raining all morning and all night but that didn't stop from exercising, trouble even though I've exceeded more than 30 minutes I still couldn't sweat much.

The weather is cold that's why you don't sweat much.

Although it's good for the rainforest, I imagine monsoons can be inconvenient, depressing or even frightening. I find the sound of the rain at night soothing, but it wouldn't be soothing if I were worried about a flood!

It's really depressing when it rains. That is because you cannot do some of the things that you usually do. It's better to stay home and enjoy the cold weather.
