Stay True To Yourself

Everywhere you go, you see people of all shapes and sizes. No two are alike and really, why should they be? In this day and age it seems to me that people seem to care more about looks and a lot less about personality and heart. I admit, there was a time in my life when I wanted to look like a supermodel. I wanted to be that "perfect" person. That's unrealistic expectation if you ask me. No one is perfect, not in the way we expect at least. We all have our expectations of what perfection is. Sadly many of those expectations are unrealistic. We have to learn to look into ourselves and find our own kind of perfect. If you want to change, then look into yourself, and change for you. Don't set unrealistic goals. It starts with you. Stay true to yourself, and never let anyone tell you otherwise.

Good post. However, our world will still make some of us feel less than special, which is a shame.

True! Beauty lies in the eyes of the observer. Nowadays most of the observers have got infected eyes and brains!

I agree! It is a shame because I believe everyone is beautiful in their own way, but some of society sees it otherwise.

People are so judgemental these days. They judge people the way they looks, the way they dress and everything. Yes, I also what to be that perfect girl/woman that everyone dreams. Now I realized that we're all unique and we have different types of beauty. We only need to be confident and don't mind the negative people around us.

Exactly! We all live in a society that feels we should all look, act and feel a certain way, when in actuality, we are the ones who truly know how we feel. No one is perfect, I'm learning that too. We have to learn to accept our own uniqueness. It's not easy but we can do this.

We have to be happy with ourselves. I don't want to be anyone else cause they have problems of some kind like we all do. I am me and kind of like myself. Great topic!

@ellagotnailed I agree with you. All we can do is to try and pass happiness around the best we can.

Some people are not always happy with themselves and it's sad, but they probably have reasons. The best way to see things is how they turn out in the end. It's always going to be fine. Thank you!

Well said, we have to accept ourselves. We have to realize that those who have what we think is a perfect body might have their insecurities as well. And there will always be someone who envies us for the way we are, so it doesn't make sense to envy or wish to be like someone else. We are the way we are, and there's a reason, we all have a purpose.

I love your response! This is absolutely true. Everyone has their own insecurities. It's true we cannot wish to be someone else because we'd lose who we really are in the process. :)

Thank you! It is and in so many ways, I wish more people would see it in that way. We are all different, we are all perfect in our own way.

Very true. We usually want what we don't have and have the least chances of having someday. We should look on the positive side of what we are having and should be grateful for that.It can give peace and happiness.

The positive side is always the best, sometimes it's not easy but I know with a little time and work things turn out for the best.

I try to live in my own terms. My rule, my style. I don't allow anybody to dictate what I should look like or how I should talk. But I do have my own insecurities that I try to cover, I use concealer makeup for that ! Seriously, I do cover my insecurities with a big smile.

That's normal and it's OK. I can completely understand when it comes down to insecurity. I do still have mine, but I can't exactly cover mine up. Live life by your rules. I really love that motto. My life, my style. :)
