During the winter months I find it hard to get out of bed most days. During the summer I normally love getting up early, but this year things have changed. Even though it is summertime here in the UK ,I am still finding it hard to get up in the morning. Do you find it hard to get up in the morning?

Being retired, I can get up whenever I like, so that isn't hard

Did you have to get up early when you were working?

@millie02 Yes I did - the latest I started work was 7am, and it was 5am in the summer.

@millie02 I love to get up 3 or 4 am in the morning no matter what time of year! I am at my best early in the morning. I start to get tired by noon! I can't wait to get up; I go yo bed with the intention of not being able to wait to spring out of bed! But latelyI have only been sleeping 3 hours a night

@millie02 Yes, every night is an early night! I am usually in most cases in bed by 8 pm. Last night I was in bed by 7:30 pm! Sometimes I will stay up later if I am busy doing something I am enjoying or have to get done, but try to be in bed by 8 pm!

It can be hard to wake up some mornings. But sometimes, as much as I may not want to, I just do it. I just get up. Sometimes, a little coffee does help me a little in the morning.

Coffee does help you to wake up in the morning, I am always better once I have had a drink.

@millie02 I know the feeling. It's become a morning ritual.

me too. I think it's the heat. It's been hot here than it was last year.

The heat does make sleeping uncomfortable.

Could we switch places? I find it hard to stay longer in bed. No matter what I do, I still wake up earlier than i want to.

It is probably better to get up early rather than lay in bed.

I'm a morning person. If I have trouble getting out of bed I'm either sick or over tired.

@millie02 You think it's weather related?

You're finding it hard to get up because the weather is fooling you into thinking it's winter!!

No, I do not find it hard to get up. Sometimes I wake up too early for my own liking. I do get a lot done when I do wake up early, though.

These last few nights I've been sleeping very light and waking up every couple of hours. Must be the weather

The weather can make it difficult to stay asleep, especially when it is hot.

@millie02, I have gotten used to waking up early. Now it is a habit. I like the silence of the mornings.

Nope, morning is my best time of day and even if I have had a late night I will still wake early. We're having some pretty good weather here this year (I'm in Wiltshire so not far from you) but I notice the mornings are slowly getting darker again.

Most definitely! Especially if you have to wake up very early. Its dark at the time I wake up making it even harder to do so.

yes when its cold and im under my sheet or blanket I dont feel like waking up and end up snoozing my alarm for over 3-4 times. But during summer I do wake up on time. It is too hot here where i live.

Yes, it's extremely difficult to pull myself out of bed every morning. I suffer from insomnia, which makes it incredibly difficult to fall asleep. I sometimes get kept up till 2-3am, causing me to end up groggy and tired during the day.
