Hope for the best but expect the worst too

I'm always hoping for the best and exercise my faith in God that things will all go perfect. But now the opposite is happening, things fail, I get disappointed. I forget to remember the saying that we should expect the worst too. I should prepare my heart if things fail or things don't work out. It's not bad to be a positive thinker and hope for the best but we should be realistic thinker too. I'm confuse but I still hope for the best but I'm prepared for anything worst.

Like in times of typhoons we should expect the worst so we will prepare ourselves but it's just for planning. We should still always hope for the best.
