Accept Credit Card for Taxi Fare: Is It Available In Your City?

I am just wondering if a taxi driver accepts credit card for the fare in your city. I had read that some countries have this mode of payment from the passengers. In my country, it wasn’t like this. We can only have receipt from them and pay them in cash. Actually, it takes years before this was implemented. Is it negotiable to accept credit card for taxi fare?

The country is slowly shifting to tap cards which would be more convenient. 5 beep cars using tap cards are now operating in Manila and 10 more will be added to the fleet. The trains will soon be using tap cards too.

I think cars attached to Uber only accept credit card. Uber-affiliated cars already operate in the country, especially in Metro Manila I think.

I believe here it is cash only still, but I haven't been in one for a long time so I'm not positive.

I think it is better to pay it in cash. I am not also in favor with the usage of credit card.

Kinda comfortable, but dangerous still for me, I mean what if it's robbers that wants all in your ATM? obviously not entirely convenient.

cashless and paperless might be implemented but not through credit card. The use of card and Uber is more realistic than Credit card, I guess.

I also do agree on that. We don't want to overspend using a credit card.

I haven't been in a taxi cab for years, but I don't think you can use a credit card here. I have read about everything going to "digital money" but never even thought about taxi cabs.

I have no idea, I think it is not yet implemented here from where I am living, but if it does I don't think I will do that. For me credit cards are for important trnsctions only, and I don't really have e becausebi !right swipe it everyday lol!

I guess it would be such a small amount for taxi fare to charge to credit cards .

As far as I know, taxi drivers here appreciate cold cash than card.

You're right, maybe it will take years before it will be implemented. Or not being implemented at all.
