Have you ever been to Portland?

Im looking to take a mini vacation in the upcoming months. Somewhere just for a few days. I have a friend in Denver, so I visited there in May. My sister has a friend who would offer up her home in Portland, Oregon. From what I hear it sounds like a cool town, progressive.
Have you ever been? Is it worth it to check it out do you think? Anything that a tourist "must see"? All insight appreciated :-)

Yes I've been several times. Our family lived in Klamath Falls till I was 12 and we would go to Portland for some events. Also, my daughter and her hubby lived up there for a few years so I visited a few times. Portland is progressive as you say and that is only one reason to like it. It's a great city for music and art. It's a long time since I've been so I'm not sure what the must-sees are. We did a lot of galleries and like everywhere I go, book stores.

I've never lived there but I've been through Portland several times back in the last millennium. I know a few people who have moved there and they all can't stop talking about what a fantastic city it is. They make me want to visit there, too. It may be one of the most progressive cities in America and I really like that. I hope you have a wonderful trip. Don't forget to bring an umbrella.

I am clueless about that state. I have never been to the USA.
