Is good treatment available in India for sportsmen/women?

From the beginning, the parents in India train their children to concentrate more on education than on Sports. They can not afford the medical expenses if their children get hurt in games and sports. The lack of medical facilities and unaffordable medical expenses make parents discourage their children from participating in games. If the Children while playing get hurt there will be no free medical aid given to them. Once the parents taste the experience they will never allow their children to participate in the Sports and Games. Many Sportsmen and women are leading a miserable life after their participation in the Sports & Games and many who represented India in the International Games and events are virtually on the roads.

There are some cases in my country too. I think the government should lay down a good program for athletes, before and after the competition. Besides, these athletes are bearing their flags for their country.

It should be not only for those who represent the country, but it should be meant for all sportsmen and women whoever take up sports activity.

It wouldn't take much to change the country's mentality. Add some rewards for the medals your athletes will win, like it happens in some countries! If you win a gold medal for Azerbaigian, you'll get $510.000! The UK doesn't give any reward instead. US gives $25.000, which is okay, they're winning a lot of medals! Then, of course, some national competitions would help as well, if implemented.
Olympic medal money varies by country but in the U.S. athletes make $25K for gold, $15K for silver and $10K for bronze, plus millions in endorsements.

we need to concentrate on sports that are not played by a bat and a ball!
