I had my day with exploiting computer accessories people

Just a few days ago,my brother's keyboard got messed up and stopped working after his little girl spilled tea.So we headed to town in search of a new one but it proved too hard because his laptop is one of the oldest model. The model is HP 100E mini-laptop.In our walking around in the various computer accessories,we were met with the notion that finding keybord of such a laptop model was next to impossible. But we forged on until we came to a stall that had them in stock but the owner was selling it at a bit expensive price. He put it that his price included even the service for installing the keyboard. But I told him that I only needed the keyboard and the rest I would do it on my own and he was not willing to reduce the price. I lost hope completely and as I was about to board a vehicle home,a guy whom we had met on a WhattsApp group and had promised to call back if he found something called me and directed me to his stall. The good news was he had the keyboard that I so desperately needed and his price was much lower than the others in his line of business and what's more ,there were no charges in installing it.So I went home a happy guy.

With planned obsolescence it becomes difficult to find spare parts after a few years. You have been lucky

@waflay For a laptop using an external keyboard can only be a temporary solution until you find the right one, but it might help.

@topffer I had already considered this as my last viable option because it seemed like nothing was forthcoming but the phone call saved the day.

This is very true.I remember in one of the stalls the owner frankiy told me that finding such a keyboard was very hard and even advised me to look for a USB cable and connect to the keyboard of a PC to operate it on my laptop.

Yes I came across some of those people too. And it's kind of really irritating experience.

For the years that I've been using computers,I have learnt to be cautious when dealing with such people who are out to really exploit you in their very cunning ways.

I am so happy to know that you found what you needed Wayflay at a decent price too a fair man he was. It is tough to find some older keyboards. And you installed it yourself and works fine!

I had a clue of the price that rightly ought to be but the computer accessories guys are out to exploit anyone like myself looking for something that is definitely hard to find.

I think putting the keyboard in place is a simple service and for that I could not allow anyone to exploit me with it since I can do it myself.
