Fire Island Lighthouse (1826)

This is a painting done by my dad, of a lighthouse. The Lighthouse Board long considered the "Fire Island Lighthouse," one of its most important light stations. Because of its most flashing characteristic, the light is known affectionately to many as "Winking Woman."

Even though I haven't been commenting on the painting you show here that your father has done, I do look at them regularly. It's great that he was able to work with his talent and leave so much for everyone to see. My wife paints and my daughter draws. I used to but haven't had much time for that.
