How do you deal with arrogant clients?

Having a hard time dealing with clients today. Some are just so arrogant, they insult you to the bones as if they are talking to an alien. Some couldn't wait they think you are a computer or a robot that could do many things at the same time. I hate dealing with people like this. They have the right to complain but they don't have the right to go beyond limitations. I try to be calm as much as I could. I know that they could never understand the nature of work we have here since they only come to ask, to follow-up for their own concerns not knowing that there are other cases attended in this office. I don't know why these self centered arrogant clients exist in this world. I only listen to them as they express their anger in front of my face but at the back of my mind i wanted to burn their faces.. . if only it'snot a crime. .. they'd never realize until they experience conflicts with clients on their own workplace.

some aspects of the job still frustrate you and grate on your nerves, even if you've been at it for awhile.

@carexing25 when i've had a non-stop, stressful or physically demanding day, i want to reward myself with something sweet (ice cream, cake, softdrink) or greasy like a double cheeseburger.

Sorry to hear this. I would probably tell them to go fly a kite, but you're right best to just stay calm.

right. good thing we were trained not to talk back when clients are in the midst of their anger. . i myself understand how they also get frustrated with their pending cases but they should also understand that we are working hard to accommodate thousands of cases filed ..

Being angry or shouting with the other person cannot solve any problem..

@hereandthere I do. Once.. Then when my manager saw me already shouting and crying over the phone, he took the receiver from me and shouted to my customer. He told to the guy that our company do not want to have business with them anymore.

Sorry you have to go through all this, we Filipinos have a saying " in to one ear and out to the other" perhaps this is what you should appy. It's okay if they criticize the system but doing it to you or other employees is already stepping on the line

people are always quick to remind government employees that they are public servants, but there's a limit to what they can do

@hereandthere I pity some government workers cause they seem to be over worked and under staffed while those on top are taking their time and doing corruption left and right I hate it and it breaks my heart when i hear news of ghost employees

Some people can be so hard to deal with. All you can do is be nice and smile.

Just remember that they are what gives your company income , and from that income your income too . Just paste that smile on your face and seethe in anger just inside .

@carexing25 But you have to listen so you can understand what they are complaining about and maybe give it to others who handles that very same concern .

@SIMPLYD yes, what i mean is when they go beyond their own issues with the office and they start insulting employees.. i think i don't have to listen to it anymore.. in this kind of situation, i just hold my patience so i stay quiet and pretend as if i don't hear any nasty words from them
