Hi mylotters, I like to discuss about things around here and sometimes, I read stuff and think about them even after logging out or going away from keyboard. The ideas go to the back of my mind and remain there until the circumstances make the idea pop up in my brain and do something I wouldn't do if I wasn't reading the discussion: 1) I have bought Majhul Palms 2 days ago, because of a discussion someone had opened and was asking about how to keep his palms dry (it was so funny, I didn't know he was taking about his hands, and I responded about the palm fruits, some users found it very funny). The palm fruit memory stayed in the back of my mind and when I went to the super market to find something that I would like, I decided to buy majhul palms and only a couple of hours later, I thought about the discussion that gave the power for it to happen. 2) more than 2 years ago, someone started a discussion about music changing our moods (maybe it was at moracha...) I responded about Perl Jam, and decided to hear Paradise Lost and I listened to PL for a long time, hearing their oldest stuff and it was so cool. 3)My latest discussion about bugs has made me realize I don't need to interfere with bugs life and to leave them alone. I have decided to just watch the bugs. I don't know if discussion keep in the back of my mind, but, the power of the unconscious was talked about in books like the Secret, The Power of Your Subconscious, buy Joseph Murphy...They all say that the thoughts in our mind and the back of our mind has results in a way. Your take, mylotters, was there any discussion that changed your life ? Maybe just interfered in your life ? Maybe made you doing something you wouldn't do otherwise ?

Me seeing more and more posts about quilts and other crafts that others are working is keeping me posting about my crafts and keeping me motivated to keep on working on them.

That's good, there is a user around here (I hope I'm doing it legally) that has a discussion about her crafts, maybe you will like to search for `xstticher` in the search box for tagged discussions. She will give you even more motivation. I don't consider it as a change, it just a hobby you already do frequently.

Yes, just recently. I posted about waking up with my knees stiff, etc. Someone suggested bed exercises before I get up. I didn't sleep well last night, so I didn't even think of it. But tomorrow morning I'll start some exercises in bed before I try to get up.

Doing exercise is good if done properly, did you do the exercise and only then remembered in retrospect that the respond might have done you to exercise (I hope my grammar is all right with the past and the past perfect, I don't like this tricks). Mylot really helps you in your life, I wish you to keep getting positive advice and ideas from here that will help your life.

@stringer321 - Mor - Oh yes. You may be thinking about my great postings here on the MyLot place. I always impart great wisdom everywhere I walk. The roads and sidewalks never fail to tell me how much they appreciate my walking all over them.

I'm asking if there was any discussion that somehow made you do something in real life later ? Maybe affected you in an unconscious way ? Maybe gave you an idea you actually followed ? The greatness of a discussion is in the eye of the reader and the question is how much the reader gets affected by the discussion. You can make many great postings and I may like even them, but, forget totally about them and they won't make any difference in my life. At least nothing I can point on...

@Ceerios Exactly. Actually, the subconscious has power we are not always aware of, so, every thing we see or learn can affect our life somehow. I will start reading your posts and maybe they will make a difference on my life too, that will make your posts officially great in my opinion with no sarcasm, I'm being for real.

@stringer321 - Dear Mor - I was being sarcastic in my earlier response - that is, I was certainly not being serious about the "greatness" of any of my postings. The MyLot place has little room for greatness anyway. I would doubt that any life-changing thing will show up in a person's life from MyLot discussions, but one never should say never, right? -Gus-

Someone answered my query about turtles being present in animes. I never thought that I've seen some before. They're just too obvious to notice. I ended up Googling all the turtle characters he mentioned.

I sometimes read things here and it sets off a change of thoughts just like you've described.

Can you give me any example ? Maybe I will learn something. I like reading the discussions, but, most of the time, I don't remember the most of what I read. Only things that mean something, that cause me to change my ways.

@stringer321 I guess mostly for me it doesn't change my ways so much as remind me of something and I can then write about it. I sometimes pick up good ideas here too. I read about someone marinating pumpkin. I've never heard of that so I might look up some recipes to try out.
