Why my friend's boyfriend won't be booking any more 'romantic' holidays

My friend has just posted the attached photo on her facebook page, swearing that she will NEVER again let her boyfriend 'sort out' the accommodation for a romantic getaway. I think he thought he had a bargain when he snapped up this hotel deal. I'd love to have seen his face when they walked into their little 'love-nest' and found BUNK BEDS! I don't dare ask if they've been fighting on who gets to 'go on top'.

I have no issues sleeping on the floor if that is the only hindrance

They had a chance to be creative, at least. Such a bad thing that men don't always pay attention to details, luckily my boyfriend asks me what I think of something before buying or booking. Well, unless it's a surprise. I'm just better at organizing. Romance must not be cheap!

lmao. And the romantic dinners were McDonald's, right?

This is not something that I would call "romantic". I would divorce for something like this.

@boiboing I always check tripadvisor, it's better to risk to read a negative review and there is nothing wrong, than to fall in a scam like this.

I would not let him near a hotel booking website again. Doesn't he know that tripadvisor exists to stop stuff like that.

Things aren't always what they seem. I booked a romantic getaway back in May to end up getting a room with 2 beds.. we made the best of it. Last month we brought the whole family on a trip and I booked a cabin that claimed it slept 6, but when we got there there were only 3 beds, one of them a full sized. 2 of the kids had to sleep on the floor

It looks like a room in a youth hostel.

That's exactly what I thought. They moved out and booked another hotel.

That would be funny if it wasn't so annoying. I wonder if he just didn't read the fine print, or if the hotel did not disclose the bedding type.

I will have to ask for more details when they get back - assuming she lets him come back.

Well, if he got a great deal, I'd have just taken the mattresses off the beds, moved them together, and made the best of things. It makes a fun story.

I think the boyf needs to go on top. My friend drinks far too much and might fall out.
