As most of you already know, I run a trading shop that buys and sells practically anything I can make money on. A few days ago, there was this house that they demolished, no I did not buy the house and lot lol! but I was able to buy all the steel gates and window grills.( in the picture) Now it was raining hard so the workers were absent except for one, eager to get done with and get a clear shot to post online we dismounted everything, Oh God now I got a sore shoulder and a mild stiff neck, wife was quick to remind me that I am no longer 30 or 35 and there are things I should stop doing Anybody know a natural remedy for sore shoulders and stiff neck? Do you sometimes forget your age and do things you do when you were younger?

That is one good remedy out indeed, oh yes we active folks tend to forget, we are like athletes especially fighters who want to go on and on

I know how you feel, because too many times I forget my age. Take a hot bath and if it really hurts a lot a pain pill. You will feel better in a couple of days. I love those steel gates.

Yes the hot bath was a real relief thank God, older steel and iron works tend to be heavier than what they do now, it is beautiful especially the grills ( not in the picture) and they were sold right away to somebody who owns a farm a few days I posted it online, Each piece of gate weighed close to a hundred kilos, I'm 5'9' tall but I weigh only around 158kgs. My worker, Richard is a large burly man much younger so I was practically being dragged lol!

@LadyDuck oh I'm sorry, I am 58 kgs so I am a mere 128 pounds, I maintained it and I have the same body wieght and mass since I was in college, and I always boast that this is my ideal fighting weight and I perform better if I stay this way I would be featherweight if I were a boxer

@louievill You are a bit taller than my husband and I think you wrote Kgs, but in fact you weight 158 pounds, that is about 71 Kg.

Fill a clean old sock with rice and tie it off. Heat in the microwave a minute or two and apply it to the sore areas. Soak in a warm bath with epsom salts for at least twenty minutes.Use your favorite NSAID.

I wonder whether swimming will relax your body Or how about soaking in a spring? Why not use a trolley? At least it will be very helpful for you. Please be careful next time as going to see the doctor can be very expensive.

@louievill Yes, I am familiar with Tiger balm. Actually there are a lot of stuff like this and it can really work. I remember long time ago I bought one and it called "Rubbish grass oil" for my son and it could work in many aspects

I always would just drink twice a day a 200 mg celecoxib tablet . After taking about at least 4 of it , the sore muscles will be gone . Though , remember if you have maintenance medicine you should consult a doctor first .

Yes gradually subsiding, I know synthetic med can take this out right away but the kidney and liver would have to work harder later to eliminate it also I might keep looking for one everytime I feel pain, yes "tiis" for a few days but no expense

massage is really the primary remedy, in fact we do it unconsciously I guess the moment we feel pain or something uncomfortable, it's like scratching

What sort of thing did you attempt to do? I'm still pretty much healthy for my age but these gates are extreme, it's work for younger and stronger people.

@LeaPea2417 I want to think that sometimes it's our desire to have the job done or something that will make us money or desire to help somebody that pushes us to even start or begin with something like you did. We only feel the nad effects after, it's like some sort of adrenaline rush lol!

@louievill My husband had bought some concrete blocks so he can reinforce the base of our wooden fence. I decided to help by lifting the blocks one by one out of the trunk of his car and setting them next to the fence. Each block weighed about 30 or 40 pounds. There were about 20 or more blocks. After I did that, I realized how I don't have the energy as I use to. I am glad I was able to do it, but I wish I hadn't worn myself out in the process.

I read that a hot bath helped which was what I was going to suggest. I also saw that you do not weigh very much. You will have to employ another larger, burly man to help! :) It is good that you sold the things so quickly.

I tried gaining weight but it made me slow and sluggish, I have a couple more workers but they were absent in fact I fired one because I made it very clear not to be absent we were getting something. At times it's not always strength in work but proper technique, besides I'm suppose to be the brain and not the brawn but i am more than willing to switch in order to earn. Oh yes I have to sell as fast as possible what I buy to get my capital back lol but I could always get a financier if the amount is too big, I would buy anything I can make money on but it's not always large and heavy like this deal

@louievill We have found that as we get older we get much smarter! I usually say 'cunning'. We aren't as strong as we used to be so have to work out ways to do things that are within our limits.

Get a shoulder, neck and back massage. It will help and exercise your shoulder by moving your head slowly to the right side, then to the left side of your shoulder. Move your head up and down as well. Remember, do it slowly and many times.

A nice hot bath or a sauna might help! Yes, I have learned that I need to remember that I'm 67 and not 37 or even 47. We sometimes learn the hard way.

Sauna is good in very cold countries like yours, perhaps just a warm bath not hot, it's very hard to convince ourselves maybe at first.

Ibuprofen and a hot water bottle should do it. In my country thereĀ“s a saying that in those instances you should rub the sore part with your IC (Identity Cards have your birth date)

In all sense of the word I am still quite healthy lol! I love the water bottle treatment, I do that too but I have second thoughts taking the pill not unless it becomes really unbearable, I do not need the I.D. cards, my wife is always there constantly reminding me cause she would do the massage later
