Where Can I Find A Real Good ISP?

After my very bad experiences with my previous ISP namely, Smart Bro, and PLDT Home DSL; I switched to Globe Tattoo and was initially quite happy with its performance.
But lately, I noticed that Globe Tattoo's connection speed was not as fast as before and disrupted services have been quite often. Last month we had no internet connection for 5 days due to system issue. And again this week, we encountered network issue that led to another 4 day internet failure. And worse, their Customer Service Hotline is a big waste of time.
With all these I am thinking of changing my ISP again, but the problem is where to find a real good one.
Do you have a real good ISP?

There is nothing good in our country,I think almost all of them have capping or data cappingand we are one of the slowest in the world. Pldt is probably the lesser evil but I wonder why you also have bad experience with them too.

@salonga nothing is good unless this goverment fulfills it's promise to break monopolies and allow new players to come in so there will be fair competition.

PLDT is under Smart and so with Sun. Before the Smart acquired the Sun, it was so hot and really a good competitor. But what would you do to a capable competitor when you have the capabilities to buy it. Philippines is just too small country to monopolized the business.

we stick to PLDT despite the numerous calls to upgrade but our home is not work-related place, so we just have the internet for our personal use.

@ridingbet Yes very bad,it will take forever before you can get connection. Globe Tatoo is much much better although lately there have been some issues.

I am good with PLDT Home DSL but the connection is flactuating. Now it is fast, I can stream without buffering. We also have Smart Bro on the side as a back up. It is part of the room rent here in the apartment.

Whoa.. four or five days of interrupted internet connection is terrible service. Here if there is an interruption for more than a day I call everyone and let them know that they need to get to work. LOL You need should look for a good service provider.. Hope someone in your area comes up with a good suggestion.

PLDT is a little okay in my hometown, with minimal outages a few times a month.
And where I am right now, they were subscribed to Globe LTE which in their opinion had the worst service. Before that, they were subscribed to Globe WiMax which was okay but Globe insisted to upgrade their plan to LTE and promised a much better service but that was only for the first month. After that, it was too bad, that even a simple browsing online could not be handled properly. It really was too slow.
Now, their ISP is Cable Link. Check if it is available at your location. I can say that it is a good one, since it is bundled with cable services and 2mbps internet connection which has unlimited data unlike others which have data caps. They also have faster speeds but higher monthly service fees.

@brokenbee Anyway, I'm glad my ISP has been stable the past few days already so for the time being, I will have to just stay with Globe.

@salonga I hope it is available. I think it is a little better than PLDT's connection. The only problem is that they have poor customer service. When there is an outage, it is hard to reach their CSRs...

The sad truth about this, we are being monopolized by only two companies and we are always depending on the data they're providing us. How nice if there's another player in the country.

@ilocosboy Oh really! I just heard it was bought by Smart. This Smart is so shrewd.

@salonga It was bought by Smart. I think its another business strategy to avoid the competition. Before the Sun became lousy when bought by Smart, it was so lively in many promos and performance.

We are still using broadband since my brother's registered it back in the 90s. I guess globe is a bad service in your area, here it's smart or Pldt that is a bad service to most house holders here. for now my eldest brother said it's okay.

In my experience PLDT is the best but maybe depends on your subscription. Now I am only using Globe prepaid GoSurf, speed is better than SuperSurf and depends on the device and location. I can surf faster on iPhone than cheap Lenovo tablet
