Another Smothering Day

Good morning/afternoon/evening! Well, we are back to the hot and humid weather again. Our temps went up to 91 degrees yesterday. I really did enjoy the couple of days we had when it was cooler. It made me really yearn for Fall. My poor little Bella. She has had an allergic reaction to something because her stomach is all broke out with a bright red rash. She will lay on her stomach on the floor and drag her stomach across the floor. It must be itching and she is trying to relieve it. I called the vet and she said to give her Benadryl. I have given her two doses and the rash isn't as bad but she is still dragging her stomach across the floor. If she doesn't get any better by Friday, I will have to take her to the vet. We are thinking that she may be allergic to Febreeze. My brother had sprayed the couch this past weekend. I don't have much to do today besides washing a couple of loads of clothes. I usually wash 2 times a week. If I wash only once a week, it takes a lot out of me because my brother usually has a lot of clothes to wash. Every day he wears two sets of clothes. One for work and then when he comes home, he changes into another set. I hope everyone has a great day today and be careful of the heat!

I wish you would send some of that cooler weather our way . I was afraid to put calamine lotion on Bella's stomach because her and Daisy would lick it and I don't know if it would hurt them.

@crazyhorseladycx Bella's rash is completely gone but we still don't know what caused it. I'm wondering if it was something in the air outside. Her little eyes run a lot and the doctor said it was from allergies.

I hope your Bella's rashes will soon be gone . It must be so itchy that she has to drag her stomach across the floor . But it's good she knows how to scratch it .

Her rash is almost completely gone now. She still scratches a little. I felt so bad for her to see her dragging her stomach across the floor like that.

Hope little Bella will feel better soon. I am hoping to go to have breakfast with my children at the park later, and work on my freelance project too. I just had my yoga practice and felt good. I might need to do another load of laundry this evening, I need to wash everyday. Have a nice day!

Bella is feeling a lot better and her rash is almost gone. I would love to be able to learn yoga. I think it would help my arthritis. Maybe I can find a beginners class on youtube.

My late husband used to wear three sets of clothes each day plus I had two children whom I cloth diapered. You can imagine how much laundry I had to do. That's terrible about your dogs rash! When my daughters gets hives from things she allergic to it usually takes about 3 days of taking Benedryl for the hives to go away and stay away.

@simone10 I hope it won't happen again :( It takes a few times sometimes before we figure out what caused the rash. My daughter was allergic to red dye and feta cheese as well as many antibiotics.

You really did have a lot of laundry to do, didn't you? Fortunately, Bella's rash is almost gone. We never did find what she was allergic to.

I have learned that the temps can be low but if the humidity is high, it is still uncomfortable.

Good mornin! OH mannnnn, I bet the Febreze is the culprit. I hope the vet can help. We are supposed to be at 90 today. At this point in summer we just say "at least it's not 100." I hate summers here, it's the only part of here that I don't like. We don't get much humidity thank goodness. And our a/c is still good.

I'm not sure what caused it but it is some kind of allergy. The rash is almost gone now and she is feeling better. You are so fortunate not to get a lot of humidity. I wish it was that way here.

Would Bella benefit from something like calamine lotion? I hope the rash disappears soon. Sorry you are back to your too hot weather.

I would be afraid that either Bella or Daisy would try licking it off. Luckily the rash is disappearing.

Thanks! Bella is doing much better. When there are two sets of clothes each day, it sure makes for a lot of laundry.
